Ritchie Jacobs

UMW Pitching Coach

Currently Richie is a commercial furniture designer and programmer at Capitol Components and Millwork.  He is in his 3rd year of coaching at UMW.  He coached softball at Riverbend High School and girls’ basketball at Fredericksburg Christian High School. 

Richie provides instruction to the pitchers; works with the infield and outfield while coaching first base for the Eagles.  He works exclusively with pitching instructor Denny Tincher father of All-American pitcher Angela Tincher.  Richie is a regular instructor for Denny's clinics and camps.   He is a private instructor to the area’s top pitchers.  We are very pleased to have Richie on board.

Keith Tasaka

UMW Hitting Coach

Currently Keith is the Golf Course Superintendent at Greendale Golf Course with the Fairfax County Park Authority; he is entering into his 6th year coaching at UMW.  He spent 21 years coaching at Robert E Lee High School, in Springfield VA,  and was the Assistant Varsity Softball Coach from 1986--1995 and became the Head Varsity Softball Coach from 1996—2008.  Other teams he coached include; Assistant Freshman Football Coach Hayfield High School, Alexandria VA , 1999 to 2004 and Pitching Coach for the Tsunami Softball Travel team, 2003 – 2008.  

Keith started offering private softball Instructions in 2001, during this time frame he worked extensively with LB Bailey and hosted LB pitching clinics 2004-2008.  In 2008   he assisted LB Bailey in an Olympic clinic.  Currently, he still works many camps and clinics for local high schools, travel teams and youth leagues.  In 2008 he was offered an assistant coaching position at the University of Mary Washington and is still currently working primarily with Pitchers, Catchers and hitting.
